The University of Tartu Grand Medal is awarded to members of the University of Tartu for special merits.

The University of Tartu Grand Medal, the Medal, the Badge of Distinction, the decoration “100 Semesters at the University of Tartu”, the Johan Skytte Medal and the University of Tartu Star of Appreciation may only be worn by the person on whom the decoration has been bestowed.
