On 28 November, the Minister-President of Flanders Jan Jambon, Vice Rector for Research of the University of Tartu Kristjan Vassil, and representatives of Ghent University met at the Ministry of Education and Research in Tallinn.
Vice Rector for Research Kristjan Vassil gave a presentation on the planning of the Estonian digital government and its main components, such as digital databases, a secure data exchange platform, digital identity, etc. In addition, the main differences between e-election solutions in Estonia and the Flemish region were discussed, and the Estonian unicorn landscape was presented.
Rik Van de Walle, Rector of Ghent University, gave a presentation on the ENLIGHT consortium of universities and introduced our increasing cooperation in this network.
The University of Tartu is a member of the ENLIGHT network of European research universities, together with Ghent University, which was represented at the meeting by Rector Rik Van de Walle, Head of the Department of Public Governance and Management Professor Bram Verschueren, and Policy Advisor on Academic Diplomacy Isabelle De Coen.
