The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a 2-hour medical admissions assessment for applicants who apply for our English-taught Medicine programme.
It is developed and administered by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing and can be taken at test centres worldwide.
BMAT is an admissions test that assesses your ability to apply scientific and mathematical knowledge, as well as problem solving, critical thinking and written communication skills that are essential to university-level study. It gives you the chance to stand out from the crowd and show your potential to succeed on a demanding, medical degree.
BMAT is a 2-hour pen-and-paper test, which consists of three sections and is taken in English. Sections 1 and 2 are multiple-choice, and Section 3 is a writing task.
The BMAT is made up of three sections: Thinking Skills, Scientific Knowledge and Applications and a Writing Task. Please find more about the sections and scoring here at the Admissions Testing website: https://www.admissionstesting.org/for-test-takers/bmat/bmat-november/tes...
Please note that you can take the test only ONCE per academic year and the results are valid only for that academic year. The test has to be taken in the same academic year in which you submit your application.
For example applicants who plan to apply during 2023 admission round can take the test either in October 2022 or in March 2023 (and not in February 2022).
Applicants who wish to apply for 2023 intake can take the test on March 4, 2023. The final registration deadline is February 5, 2023.
