Over 50 University of Tartu researchers among nominees for Estonian national research awards
The National Research Awards Committee has approved the following researchers from the University of Tartu as nominees for this year’s research awards.

Maaja Vadi and Priit Vahter Received the Mihhail Bronštein Award in Economics
Professor Priit Vahter, Professor of Applied Economics, and Professor Maaja Vadi, Professor of Management, have been awarded the 2024 Mihhail Bronštein Award by the Estonian Academy of Sciences.

A day earlier, professor Andresen will be appointed Honorary Doctor in Sociology of the University of Tartu.

The University of Tartu has conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor on Professor Emeritus Anthonius Johannes Maria de Jong to recognise him for promoting research in educational technology, educational psychology and instructional design and for his long and fruitful collaboration with the University of Tartu researchers in international projects.

The University of Tartu has conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor on Professor emeritus Jouko Kalervo Yliruusi for his long-term and significant contribution to the development of pharmaceutical technology and physical pharmacy at the University of Tartu.

The University of Tartu has conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor on Professor Sabine Andresen for her pioneering research in childhood studies and her long and fruitful collaboration with the University of Tartu social scientists in the study of child and family well-being.

The University of Tartu has conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor on Professor Jussi Sakari Jauhiainen for his successful work in developing Estonian-language geography and contributing to its internationalisation, and for his long-standing leadership in Estonian-Finnish research cooperation in geography.
