On 8 and 9 October, the University of Tartu Museum hosted members of the European Heritage Label (EHL) network. The meeting brought heritage experts from Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to Tartu. Discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, launching joint projects, and increasing the visibility of Europe’s cultural heritage.

Blended Intensive Program (BIP) combines online learning with a short-term study mobility period at a partner university. By participating in a BIP, you will study alongside international peers and spend 1-2 weeks on site at one of the universities within the ENLIGHT network.

On 24 and 25 September, a delegation from the universities and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine visited the University of Tartu. The meetings focused on university governance, strategic planning and funding, and opportunities for higher education cooperation between Estonia and Ukraine.

From 5 to 23 October, the University of Tartu will take part in the ATEENA 2026 crisis exercise organised by the Tartu City Government. The exercise aims to practise crisis management in a tabletop exercise format and to strengthen cooperation between the institutions represented on the City of Tartu crisis committee.

The Solaride team, comprising students from Estonian universities, secured third place in the Cruiser Class at the iLumen European Solar Challenge held last weekend at Circuit Zolder in Belgium. During the 24-hour competition, both the car’s technical performance and the team’s strategy and resilience were put to the test.

On 17 September at 18, the Opera Studio of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre presents Alessandro Scarlatti’s opera L’honestà negli amori (“Honesty in Love Affairs”, 1680), reconstructed by Estonian composer Eduard Tubin, at the University of Tartu’s assembly hall. This is the first time the opera will be performed in Estonia.

The Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies and the Ukraine Centre of the University of Tartu are participating in the international project RESTART, which aims to enhance the research and innovation capacity of Sumy State University in Ukraine and support its integration into the international research community.

Submissions are invited for a special issue of the Estonian Journal of Education (Eesti Haridusteaduste Ajakiri), Vol. 15, No. 2, which is scheduled to be published in November 2027.

KuupKulgur, an Estonian lunar rover platform co-developed by Tartu Observatory and MTÜ KuupKulgur, reached a significant milestone in Estonia’s space robotics journey when it recently became the first Estonian-developed rover platform to operate at the unique lunar replica site, the ESA-DLR LUNA facility in Cologne, Germany.
