University of Tartu celebrates the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia

24 February is the 105th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. The University of Tartu marks this important day with several events.

On 23 February at 11, the Viljandi Culture Academy hosts a reflection on the 105th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, featuring the presentation “My people” by singer and songwriter Jarek Kasar. Director of the Culture Academy Juko-Mart Kõlar will deliver the welcoming address. The event can be viewed online at live.kultuuriakadeemia.ee.

On 23 February at 12, all university members are welcome to the ceremony and concert in the University of Tartu assembly hall. At the event, the contribution to society award, research award and teaching staff of the year awards, as well as the Peeter Tulviste memorial scholarship, are presented.
