Outcome:
A student who has passed the course:
1. has an overview of the nature, structure and function of the whole genome and individual genes, and the differences between them in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells;
2. is familiar with the mechanisms of evolution and the application of the laws of genetics to whole populations;
3. has a general overview of molecular biology and genetics techniques used in biotechnology (e.g. PCR, sequencing, cloning and gene therapy);
4. is able to solve problems related to the topics covered in the course.
